Introduction
Reading the Bible from cover to cover gives you a breadth of knowledge in which to evaluate new ideas and teachings.
The Bible is scant on the ‘how to’ of getting into the Bible. Over the generations many methods have been developed. Each generation has its style that influences the approach to God through His Bible. The fact that details are not spelt out indicates the means are not so important. What is important is that we receive with God’s Word into our lives. For most this is through reading. In our digital age one can also find MP3 files of the Bible being read. There are films taking Bible books and acting them out.
The key question is not how you go about it, but do you in fact have a daily intake of God’s Word?

God gave a special command for Kings. Knowing powerful people are persuaded by those around them. God wanted them to share His perspective to gain His blessing. Deuteronomy 17:18-20
Deuteronomy 17:18 "When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.19 He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.20 This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.
We might not be kings, but the consequences of reading are not limited to kings.
The Lord values His word and He chooses to bless those who read it. Here is Revelation 1:3
Revelation 1:3 God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near.
For reading the Bible to happen most need a plan and a commitment. There are plans to download above. If you wish to buy a Bible, here is a link to a page helping you choose one.
I would suggest working out a time of day that where there will be an opportunity to read. Early morning? Before you go to bed? A place to stop your car before you arrive at work? A place where you can get some privacy during lunch breaks? If you find yourself consistently up at night, then during the night?
