The Lord of the universe longs for us His children to be restored to Himself. We have been in rebellion against Him most of our lives. Such is this rebellion that we don’t really know much about Him, or understand what it means to have a right relationship with Him.
Bible Zone
God invites us to join Him for a life to the full, a relationship that goes on for eternity in the security of being part of His family.
In a world where family relationships are not the best, God offers to bring us into His family to experience a true depth of love which He, the originator of love, can pour out into our lives.
John 1: 10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn't recognize him.11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
A broader perspective on God’s Invitation
Many people attempt to validate their lives by being good. They seek to live up to some standard. The Bible describes this as living under law - whatever the source of the rule.
Galatians 3: 10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, "Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God's Book of the Law."*11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."*12 This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, "It is through obeying the law that a person has life."*
13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."
A broader perspective on Accepted by God?
A new start makes a big difference. Jesus offers a new start and he offers it in simple terms. He preached a very simple message. This is Mark 1:15
Mark 1:15 "The time promised by God has come at last!" he announced. "The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!"
A broader perspective on Getting right with God?
God gives us clear promises through the Bible to make sure we understand that we are secure with Him..
1 John 5:11-13 11 And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life.
13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
A broader perspective on Assurance of salvation
Revelation 20:11-15 presents a vision of the end of the world, with all people who have ever lived standing before God, who sits on a great white throne to judge us.
Revelation 20:11-15 11 And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide.12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave* gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds.14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death.15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
There are two points of judgement. What we have done, and whether our names are written in the book of life. If a person’s name was not in the ‘book of life’ then that person goes to the lake of fire - hell.
